Have a look around – you could spend days exploring the site!
All the pieces from the Supersonics series are currently listed on the St Cecilia Classical Piano syllabus. Various pieces are also listed on the Digital Piano syllabus. All the pieces from Soundwaves and the Soundscapes series can also be used for St Cecilia exams.

Every so often I explore the Australian Music Centre’s website and borrow some new music. I haven’t been there for a while and when I surfed there yesterday I found some wonderful new things!
They now have a digital music library!!
Included in the cost of your membership ($90 Australian) is access to the digital library. You can order up to 30 downloads a month. You simply choose the picece/book that you are interested in, click on it and you can download a PDF immediately! The PDF is watermarked with your name and when the copy “expires”. Here are some interesting scores I found:
5 Simple Pieces for Piano (Eric Gross)
15 Descriptive Pieces (John Colborne-Veel)
Fortune Pieces (Michael Hannan) – highly recommended
Five Little Pieces (Ross Edwards) – highly reccomended
Mantras and Night Flowers (Ross Edwards) – you must check out “Frangipani”…
Rags and other assorted works by Elena Kats-Chernin
Please reply and add more to the list if you find any interesting pieces!
Here in Australia the new teaching year is just about to begin. With the strong Australian dollar the bargain bin at www.sheetmusicplus.com is looking particularly good! The piano bin is here:
www.sheetmusicplus.com/sale/bargain-bin/1?sa=1&sort=top_selling&rows=25&q=&in=116
Some books that I found:
Pictures at the Exhibition (Mussorgsky) for US$8.24 (about $8 Australian!)
Complete Mendelssohn Songs Without Words for US$14.96!
Ravel Sonatine for US$5.21! (All movements are listed at various AMEB grades)
Dan Coates Popular Piano Solos – looks great for fun supplementary pieces.
Recital Showstoppers – this book looks INCREDIBLY good for impressive show pieces!
The Songs of Henry Mancini – awesome pieces in this one! Baby Elephant Walk and Pink Panther are extremely popular with students.
Contest Winners Book One – a “must-have” book…
Chester’s Easiest Blues - another “must-have” for piano teachers
There are pages and pages of specials. Please reply and post the names (and links to) any books that you recommend… Happy hunting!
